In Transition

Russ and I are getting an early start on packing. We boxed up a few of our things this weekend. Nope, we don't know where we're going to live yet in a few weeks but we aren't too worried...or at least, we haven't had enough time to worry. Thank goodness because if I spent too long thinking about it, I'd probably stress out.

However, the weather is getting warmer, days are getting longer, and our marriage is getting stronger. Can't ask for anything more than that.

Here's a picture of me and Lewis after I got home from a stressful long day at work. My dog didn't care about my tiring day, he just wanted cuddles.

It's a hard life.

The Henrys are Moving!

I put this off long enough...we're moving! Our lease ends mid-April and Russ and I have decided that we will be moving out of our apartment and into a new city.

And that city is...*drumroll*...CARLSBAD!!

I might be jumping the gun here as Russell and I have not found a place to live yet. We have, however, been to several open houses. None of which were in Carlsbad. But we have a trusty realtor (she's so lovely; same lady who helped my parents find my childhood home about 15 years ago) and an optimistic spirit.

March is the grind. We'll be packing and finding a place to live. We are praying to buy a house or a condo. If we find neither, we'll probably get an apartment down there while we continue to search. We're in no rush as we know everything happens in God's perfect timing. You can't deny the fact though that we're both excited.

The past couple of weeks have been stressful for us. Between work and looking for a house/condo, it's been hectic to say the least. Thankfully, I have my mom and dad to talk to whenever me or Russell are unsure about something during this home search process. Also, it's wonderful knowing I have a realtor who is honest and someone I can trust. You can see why we are optimistic about this search.

I can't believe that it is March already. It's Russell's birthday month (yippee!) and our one year anniversary is already next month! So many good things are coming up fast. I hope I take the time to slow down and enjoy every moment of it. God has been so good.

If we do find a house or condo, I'll post it on this blog. And if we end up moving to just another apartment, I'll post that as well because it's exciting either way!

The Act by William Carlos Williams

There were the roses, in the rain.
Don't cut them, I pleaded.
They won't last, she said.
But they're so beautiful
where they are.
Agh, we were all beautiful once, she said,
and cut them and and gave them to me
in my hand.
